LEBANESE GOURMET FOOD SAFARI OF PUNCHBOWL

Local Food Safaris

Punchbowl is where Gourmet Safaris was born over 18 years ago – a perfect small suburb with all that you’ll ever need to create a huge Middle Eastern banquet available from small family-run businesses which take great care to replicate dishes and ingredients from home. Start with a coffee and sample the best falafel in town before visiting our favourite butcher, baker, emporium, chocolate and nut shop, a pizza place like no other, using toppings of za’atar (oregano, sumac and sesame seeds) lahm bajeen (lamb and spices) and many more. Enjoy many tastings as well as a banquet lunch. The grande finale is a palace of delicious sweets. A truly fabulous introduction to these great flavours.

Highlights:

  • Learning about many new ingredients and how to use them
  • Genuine warm welcomes from family owned businesses
  • Our Lebanese guide opening up new delicious worlds and sharing food and culture
  • Eating like a local in one of our “finds”
  • Taking home many treats for family and friends

Hi Suzy I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Punchbowl safari on Saturday 7 May. It was a gift from a friend for my birthday last year. Nancy was lovely and very informative. The lunch was sensational. Will definitely be going back to Jasmin restaurant. This must be about my 10th safari and as usual I loved it. Can't wait for the next one!! Cheers Terry ................................................................................................. Hi Suzy, Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say how much we enjoyed the day last Saturday – it certainly was a feast with great company and a wonderful host in Nancy. Apart from the great food we learnt a considerable amount about Lebanese fare and having Nancy there to share her Lebanese background and knowledge as well as her very, very funny stories made the day that much more relaxing and enjoyable. Will certainly be recommending this to our friends. Fond regards Warren and Wendy K
