Join Maeve or Nino for a delightful exploration of the hardworking food artisans and distillers in the back streets of Marrickville.
Thursday is production day and we start with a freshly roasted coffee then see the magic of burrata making, the tasting of fresh burrata and stracciatella and nodini; enjoy a signature gin and tonic at an artisan distillery; visit an ethical Butcher; have lunch at the retro Lucky Prawn Restaurant at the Bob Hawke Leisure Centre; sample some delicious gelato…and there’s more. A walking tour delving into food traditions from around the world. Limited numbers. Fitness – you’ll walk over 2 kilometres during this safari so you do need to be mobile.

We’ve been to so many of them and this one is right there on top as one of our favourites. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and clearly very proud of their businesses – and so they should be. Maeve has obviously developed a great relationship with them so the tours are really interesting, informative and generous wherever you go. As always, she is so knowledgeable and clearly loves what she does !!! Everything was well-organised but relaxing at the same time – no rushing from place to place and well-paced.
