Come and join us for a bountiful and delicious explore through some of the best food and wine that South Australia has to offer.
8 days, 7 nights of inspired food and wine and the “behind the secret door” experiences that Gourmet Safaris specialises in, staying in Adelaide and the Barossa and featuring two acclaimed produce markets where we’ll enjoy warm welcomes and tastes curated especially for us, a day in lovely McLaren Vale , a day in the Adelaide Hills in an adored restaurant open just for us. Plus we are delighted to have our friend chef Salvatore Pepe cooking for us in his home using his wood-fired oven to create a Calabrese long Sunday lunch.
In the Barossa we taste wine overlooking the valley, visit producers big and small, have two cooking demonstrations from Matteo Carboni and Those Barossa Girls and so much more.
Like all our trips, its got a bit of everything, nicely paced, never too much food and certainly never too little! With many Italian restaurant and home hosts as well as Columbian, Vietnamese and in the markets French, Polish, and Moldavian. We are so excited to offer this new sparkling safari into the state that punches well above its weight.

“ The South Australian food safari was full of surprises and unique experiences, from a wonderful cheese and wine tasting at night in the closed Central Markets in Adelaide, to the fabulous SA wine regions, with yummy food and specialized winery visits, to the APY lands art gallery visit meeting the artists, history tour segments, meeting so many young passionate gastronomic/farm produce people, all led and organised by the indomitable Maeve O’Meara.
Maeve is such an enthusiastic and fun tour leader and I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Maeve. Susan B. “
"The best experiences are the ones shared. Surprised to have had so much fun. Nah! You are just as I imagined. Sincere, personable and loads of fun which is what led me to these activities. Highlights? Everyday! You made us low key VIPs wherever we went. Everything was easy and fun. Markets great mix of products and ‘passionate presenters’. Surprises were exciting Gardens, APY, cube, organ and kegel club and more exciting because they were surprises. Accomodation lovely, buses and drivers terrific and then of course the food and wine. Spectacular and delicious. Think I have used up the superlatives. Thank you dearest Maeve." Helen
“Simply put......it’s just one highlight after another. Each experience is special. After the first day I was thinking that the trip had already surpassed my expectations, little did I know what the rest of the week would hold. I felt that I was in the right place at the right time. An exceptional experience with likeminded people who I think will become lifelong friends. Thank you for making my 50th birthday celebration something out of this world. The connections that Maeve is able to make with all who she meets makes for an experience you can not replicate with anyone else. The passion, knowledge, respect, care and attention to detail is remarkable. I feel so fortunate to be part of the experience” KimF
